EPISODE 013- On Dying Well

Finishing Faithful in the Valley of Shadow

Welcome to The Household Reformation Podcast, where we believe the Kingdom of God runs straight through your living room, and even into the shadowed rooms of suffering and death.

I'm Austin Tucker and today is a different because my brother in Arms, Bryan Furlong, isn’t with me today. Instead I am sitting down with a faithful pastor, Eric Gervais of First Baptist Church in Salt Springs, FL. Eric has been walking with Christ for nearly 30 years and is now walking with Him through the valley of the shadow of death.

What does it mean to die well? And how does a Reformed vision of life and death equip us to finish faithful? Recently we saw Pastor John MacArthur show us what it means to run the race and die in such a way that brings glory to Christ. In the same way, Pastor Gervais is attempting to the same thing.

Today’s episode includes the following segments:

Segment 1: A Life Poured out for Christ

Segment 2: The Theology of Dying Well

Segment 3: Shepherding Through Suffering

Segment 4: Speaking to the Next Generation

Segment 5: The Hope Beyond the Grave

Closing Exhortation

In a culture that hides and fears death, today’s conversation reminds us of something deeper: That dying in Christ is not a defeat, but a doorway. And if Christ is our life, then death is not our end, it is our beginning.

Thanks for joining us on The Household Reformation Podcast. May you run your race with endurance, finish your course with joy, and leave behind a legacy of faith for generations to come. Keep your eyes on Christ, your hands to the work, and as always, catechize your kids
